Fulani Resource Center
Project by Royal Missionary Outreach International
The Fulani people group in the northern regions of Niger Republic are facing severe economic hardship. They are experiencing poverty, and widespread health issues. 90% of them are suffering from stomach ulcers. Traditionally, Fulani women sell milk and cheese in local markets to support their families. However, the modern demand for processed milk together with the environmental impact of uranium mining, have diminished their ability to sustain this trade. As a result, the Fulani community is in urgent need of a market to revive their economy.
Project Overview:
Fulani Cooperative Market:
In the Fulani Resource Center, we aims to establish a dairy factory where Fulani herders can contribute their milk and cheese. These products will be processed, sterilized, and packaged to increase their market value. The project will involve both local and online sales, with potential for export. Hence this market will provide an economic boost and also foster interaction between the Fulani and other tribes.
Location:
The project will be located in Tanout, Niger Republic, where the government has donated land for its development.
Orientation Center:
The center will offer valuable training and guidance to Fulani contributors.
hall of meeting where seminars and trainings would be offered by Adult Educationist and volunteer experts on milk & animal production
Meanwhile, we have commenced free education on the land. We are providing educational opportunities for the indigent desert children.
Hostel
In addition, we shall make temporary accommodations available for the herders who visit the market. This will allow them to stay until their products are sold.
Chapel:
Beside, we are going to build a chapel to host fellowship gatherings, where visitors can engage in Christian worship and discipleship.
Veterinary Clinic:
Furthermore, The center will include a clinic, staffed by volunteers and paid veterinarians. They are to care for the Fulani’s animals. Equally, medications will be available at reduced prices in order to ensure better health for their livestock.
Mission Personnel:
Lastly, We have trained Indigenous Fulani pastors and workers to engage with the community. They shall provide counseling, present the gospel, and offer discipleship. This project is seen as a crucial platform for evangelizing the Fulani people group.
Project Contractor:
TESSA Dairy Ltd from Israel has been contracted to supply the mother cows and install the necessary factory equipment for milk and cheese productions.
Benefits of The Pastoral Resource Center:
- Strengthening Relationships: The Pastoral Resources Center will foster stronger and more harmonious relationships between the Fulani communities and other ethnic groups. By promoting mutual understanding and cooperation, it will help bridge cultural divides and build lasting trust.
- Economic Empowerment: The Center will significantly enhance the Fulani’s ability to market their dairy products, such as milk and cheese, which are their primary sources of income. This boost in sales will lead to greater economic stability and prosperity for the Fulani people.
- Future Opportunities for Fulani Children: The Center will create opportunities for Fulani children to better integrate into modern society. By providing education and exposure to new skills, it will pave the way for a brighter future, enabling these children to thrive in a rapidly changing world.
- Restoring Peace and Stability: By addressing the root causes of conflict and promoting peaceful coexistence, the Pastoral Resources Center will contribute to restoring lasting peace and harmony in turbulent regions of sub-Saharan Africa. This initiative will be a critical step towards creating a more stable and secure environment for all.
